Established in 1958, it was dedicated in honor of Fred Gallaway, who was the city of Reno horticulturist for over 25 years. One Acre Rose Garden is a great place to come and smell the roses, and take in the beauty of nature. The rose garden is entirely in bloom from late June/early July through late August.

The Reno pool is a great place to come and cool off during the hot Reno summers. The pool is open from early June through late August, and it features a diving board, a training pool, and a lap lane. There are designated times for open family swimming, and other times for lap lanes and swim lessons.
