Idlewild Park
Idlewild Park is a great place to spend an afternoon with your family. The 49-acre park includes two children's parks, a pool, and a skateboard park that are perfect for kids of all ages! There will be plenty of activities happening at the event so make sure you don't miss out on this fabulous Reno neighborhood gem! It includes a rose garden, duck ponds, children's parks, a pool, a skate park, and a variety of events.
Reno Earth Day Celebration
Idlewild Park hosts a celebration of Earth day every year. This is a great opportunity to celebrate our beautiful earth, and dedicate yourself to living a more sustainable lifestyle and protecting our planet. There will be plenty of interactive exhibits, speakers, and workshops for you to enjoy. Make sure you bring your family and friends so that they can learn about Earth Day too!
Reno Street Food Truck Event
If you love food trucks, then this event is for you! Every Friday during the summer from 4-9 pm, Food Truck Friday is held at Idlewild park. This is a great opportunity to try out different cuisines from all over the world. There will be plenty of food trucks to choose from (over 35 in fact!), so make sure you come hungry! This event is perfect for families, friends, and anyone who loves good food. Reno's Food Truck Friday at Idlewild Park is one of the top five largest weekly food truck events in the nation!
One Acre Rose Garden
Located in Idlewild park, is a rose garden with over 200 varieties of roses and over 1,750 roses! Established in 1958, it was dedicated in honor of Fred Gallaway, who was the city of Reno horticulturist for over 25 years. One Acre Rose Garden is a great place to come and smell the roses, and take in the beauty of nature. The rose garden is entirely in bloom from late June/early July through late August.
Duck Ponds
The two duck ponds at Idlewild Park in Reno are a great place to come and relax. It is a beautiful spot to take a stroll, and feed the ducks in authorized feeding areas! The duck ponds are a great place to come and enjoy the outdoors, especially with little children.
Children's Playgrounds
There are two playgrounds at Idlewild park that are perfect for children of all ages. The playgrounds are colorful and fun, with a variety of different play structures.
Skate Park
The skate park at Idlewild park is a great place for skateboarders of all skill levels. There are plenty of ramps and rails to practice your tricks on, and the park is well-lit so you can skate even when it's getting dark outside.
Reno Pool
The Reno pool is a great place to come and cool off during the hot Reno summers. The pool is open from early June through late August, and it features a diving board, a training pool, and a lap lane. There are designated times for open family swimming, and other times for lap lanes and swim lessons.
